I use to love Halloween. Really, really love it. It was my favorite holiday. I would look forward to it every year and start decorating in the middle of September. I would go all out. Tombstones, zombies, spider webs, body parts and Jason Voorhees in the window were just a few of the decorations in my Halloween arsenal kit. But these past few years I have become indifferent about it. I don’t even decorate for Halloween anymore. I don’t know if it’s because Raven is at the age where she cannot trick or treat anymore or if it’s because our home is located off the beaten path so we don’t get trick or treaters, but I just don’t get excited about Halloween anymore. Or maybe it’s because I’m getting old and the magic of October 31 has all but left me.

I do still get excited about Christmas though and have all ready started planning how we are going to decorate the house this year and what goodies I’m going to bake. And despite my husband’s reservations, the Christmas decorations are going to start coming up in early November.

I have a thing for corsets. I love the way they create that perfect hourglass figure and pushes the breasts up and together. I love the whole Victorian medieval look that corsets have. So when I had the opportunity to review a corset from Plus Size Lingerie Boutique, I jumped at the chance and eagerly awaited my package, which was promptly shipped and received in a matter of days. When the corset was delivered, it was discreetly and thoroughly packaged to ensure the contents arrived safely without anyone knowing what was inside.

The corset is a lovely royal blue satin fabric embellished with gorgeous black lace. It is both elegant and sexy. The satin fabric is extremely comfortable and I could easily see myself wearing the corset underneath my clothing for the entire day with no problem. The corset has a lace up back — as corsets tend to have — and side closures, which allow you to quickly put on or take off the lingerie without having to re lace the garment. This simple feature is a timesaver and after the initial lacing up you can slip in and out of the corset easily. The corset also comes with a matching g-string in the same royal blue satin fabric and stunning black lace.

One of the best things about Plus Size Lingerie Boutique, in my opinion, is that they showcase beautiful models with a larger frame wearing their merchandise on their website and Facebook page. This allows you to see what the lingerie looks like on someone above a size 0. They also regularly update their Twitter page with the latest deals and newest products so you can stay informed on all the hottest plus size lingerie items.

Whenever you need a sexy little something to spice up your nights, look no further than Plus Size Lingerie Boutique.

Homecoming is over for our little neck of the woods but prom will be upon us before you know it. And this is the first year Raven can go to prom. I wasn’t able to go to my prom when I was in high school so to say I’m a little excited about Raven going is an understatement. I have even begun to look for possible dresses for her to wear. Of course if I’m going to buy a special occasion dress then I’m not going to look any further than DressFirst, your one stop shop for some the of the most beautiful and affordable prom dresses, homecoming dresses and wedding dresses. If you need a dress for a special occasion, Dress First has you covered.

There are a few dresses that Raven is eying at the moment. The A-Line/Princess Off-the-Shoulder Taffeta Tulle Holiday Dress and the A-Line/Princess Strapless Taffeta Cocktail Dress. Both available in royal blue which is the color she wants for her prom dress because it’s the color similar to the TARDIS and being the Whovian that she is, it’s only natural that she would be drawn to that color.

The prices at DressFirst are much less then the high-end boutiques around here. Yet the quality of their dresses are on par if not above those more expensive stores. Because their manufacturing process is so efficient, they are able to provide high quality products at an affordable price. They also provide excellent customer service and their goal is to make every single one of their customers satisfied before and after the sale as been completed. Each dressed is packaged to ensure it arrives safely to the customer and is shipped using the most affordable and quickest delivery option. And if you order before October 20, you get free worldwide shipping.

I don’t think we will be ordering her dress just yet (we still have like 6 months until prom). But when the time comes, you can bet we will be ordering from DressFirst.

With every passing year, it seems as if time goes by quicker and quicker. It’s almost Halloween and Christmas will be upon us soon (which reminds me, I need to look into getting a cool mxl 4000 at guitar center for a certain someone). 2014 will be here in a few months. 2014! I know I cannot believe it. I still feel as if I am in my early 20s when in fact I am 33. 33! Where does the time go?

We came back from Tsubasacon late Saturday night and — despite having to come back early because Raven ended up getting sick — we had a great time. We were able to attend two panels: Japanese 101 for Anime Fans with the Japanese language teacher from Marshall University and Japanese Confectionery given by two awesome members of Lost Gamers Comic.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Tsubasacon:2013-10-12 18.27.58Sherlock Holmes from Sherlock.

For the past week, I have been experiencing a “breath knocked out of me” feeling. This feeling lasts only a few seconds but happens several times in an hour, sometimes as much as several in a minute. No matter what I’m doing, sitting, standing, laying, exercising; it happens. Thankfully, there is no pain involved. I cannot, however, tell if my heart is skipping a beat when it happens. Searching online for an answer hasn’t really helped. Mike thinks it’s caused by stress but I don’t feel any more stressed then normal (there are always little things that stress me out but nothing major) and I have been a hell of a lot more stressed in the past then I am now and never experienced it.

I also regularly stop breathing while I’m sleeping. That has been going on for several years and happens several times a week. I hate waking up in the middle of the night in a panic because I stopped breathing. Mike thinks that’s from stress as well.

I honestly have no clue what could be causing this “breath knocked out of me” feeling or the stop breathing while sleeping thing. It’s starting to worry me a tad bit.

Anywho, early Saturday morning we are leaving for Tsubasacon! I’m excited and a little worried. I always get a bit worried when I will be far away from our home (it takes about 3 hours to get to the convention).

I finally finished my cosplay for Tsubasacon. Funny thing is, all I really had do was make the collar and tweak the skirt a little. For those who haven’t seen the movie (Battle Royal, which is one of my favorite movies) I’m cosplaying from, here is a picture:Battle_Royale-009

I couldn’t find a jacket that matched the skirt so I nixed it. The blazer isn’t a huge deal. Especially since, throughout the movie, some of the female students end up not wearing it.

Instead of purchasing a slip (that the girls wear under their skirt), I ended up cutting up an old slip (too short for the skirt I am using for the cosplay) and attaching the lacy part to the bottom of the skirt. That way I don’t have a purchase another slip that I probably won’t wear again. It turned out pretty good, at least I think so.

It cost me about $11 to create this cosplay thanks to Goodwill.

For anyone interested, I used the instacollar printable to make the collar (attaching it to foam) and the map printable from the movie. I attached self-sticking Velcro to the ends of the collar, which allows me to easily put on and remove the collar when needed. For the map, I simply printed it out and placed it inside a clear sheet protector that I cut in half and attached a lanyard to.
